Who What Why
Trees for Congleton is a group of volunteers that aims to plant 30,000 trees in the Congleton area by the end of 2024. Trees, hedges and shrubs play a significant role in combatting climate change and increasing biodiversity.
Working group: A small group has been set up under the umbrella of the Congleton Sustainability Group (CSG) with the support of Cheshire Wildlife Trust and the advice of an experienced landscape architect to plan and manage the project. We are also working with Ruth Burgess, manager of Streetscape.
Aim: Our goal is to plant 30,000 trees, shrubs and hedgerows in the Congleton area over the next 5 years. Some of these trees will be on land owned by Cheshire East (CEC), but ultimately we hope that private landowners and individuals will get involved.
