Who What Why
Soulton Hall is an ancient English manor in Shropshire.
We have accommodation in and around the Manor House, cottages around our farm and bluebell wood. We grow some food and look after our wildlife. We have a candle lit restaurant here where we serve carefully prepared four course dinners made from our own and local produce.
We also welcome celebrations and meetings in Soulton Court a dedicated reception space which has been thoughtfully restored.
Along with a number of other initiatives, we have made the following serious serious commitments to treading more lightly environmentally:
- Ground Source Heating: a 62kW, upto 400% efficent heating system (enough for 10 homes) which provides all heating and hot water at the hall and Carriage House – with no compromise on comfort!
- Solar PV Electricity: 204 solar pannels (50kWp), producing enough electricity to run 10 homes
- Adopting conservation agriculture: we have changed our farming practices to move away from cultivations and respect our soils even more – you can find out more about this on the farming section of this website
As a result of the above, and other steps we have taken, we are saving, every year, many thousands of tonnes of CO2 and consumption of fossil fuels.
