Who What Why

Trawsnewid Llandrindod Transition (TLT) – the transition town group for the community of Llandrindod, Powys, Wales.

WE ARE an open association of people living in and around Llandrindod.

WE ARE part of the worldwide Transition Network.

OUR AIM IS to help Llandrindod make the journey to a low carbon future.

WE ARE committed to positive local community action in response to the global challenges of economic crisis, climate change, and resource depletion including peak oil.

WE FOCUS on the benefits of taking practical action locally, rather than on the threats posed by the global challenges.

WE BELIEVE that in making a community-planned transition away from fossil fuel dependence to a low carbon future, Llandrindod people and businesses will benefit from increased resilience, well-being, and sustainability.

WE SEE this transition as an enjoyable journey, with immediate as well as longer-term benefits, even though we do not know when we will reach the destination.

WE ARE non-political and non-confrontational. We don’t campaign ‘against things’.

WE WISH to share our experiences and help others, especially in neighbouring communities.

WE WELCOME everyone to join in and support our aims.
