The paths on site are steeped in history, as these small paths would have previously led to workers cottages, furnaces, brick kilns and canals. In spring and summer, the site is covered with fantastic colours as the woodland comes alive with flowers including bluebells, yellow archangel and greater stitchworth. The network of meadows here are some of the most valuable in the borough, ‘Little Crackshells’ meadow runs alongside the Ironbridge bypass but is one of the most secluded meadows in Telford and Wrekin. In summer this meadow is buzzing with insects including small heath, small copper, common blue and dingy skipper butterflies.
