September – Harvest focused activities using your home grown veg
Climate Action Hub Telford are running Sustainable Sunday events once a month at Belmont Hall, Wellington, using a grant received from Telford and Wrekin Council Climate Change Fund.
Each event is FREE and will provide ideas on how to reduce impact on the planet and save money!
Join us for our free Sustainable Sunday – Harvest Local event being run in partnership with Transition Telford which will include:
- Transition Telford: providing home grown produce, jams, preserves, chutneys
- Marches Energy Agency/Future Ready Homes information stand on home energy efficiency and retrofit and recruiting for their Green Open Doors event in October
- Climate Action Hub Telford’s:
- Plant giveaway and garden scrap store (including tree and shrub seedlings, fruit and veg plants, herbs and more; garden equipment, pots and waste items that can be used for growing food). Free gardening and cookery books. You can bring items along to swap for free or take anything you want for a pay as you can donation.
- Swap and giveaway including any household items, books, DVD’s, toys, clothes to swap for free or take for a pay as you can donation.
- Leaflet stand advertising other organisations who are working on local climate and eco action and a Biodiversity tick list for your gardens
- Terracycle Recycling and the opportunity to recycle mobile phones, electronic gadgets, jewellery, stamps and coins (see website for full details)
- Eco Library: Explore our eco library of books and magazines which you can borrow on Nature, climate and living life in a more sustainable way.
- Refreshments for a pay as you can donation including vegan drinks and snacks available throughout, with hot and cold lunch options served from 12.30pm.
