Event Info
Create a stitched postcard of the lovely Coalbrookdale landscape. We start the day with an inspirational walk, using view finders and cameras to get ideas. Use colours and textures to build your own postcard. Explore using layers of fabric, then stitch into them. Learn how to use embroidery stitches to finish your piece.
The workshop will take place in the beautiful landscape of the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site and the Trust’s community room which is located in a fully accessible award winning eco-build, set within the woodlands of Sunniside Old Deer Park in Coalbrookdale.
Refreshments will be provided. Please bring along a packed lunch.

Having completed my Certificate from the Royal School of Needlework. I worked for Heritage Stitchcraft and ran Zweigart’s UK distribution for 3 years. I am a complete thread junkie, I love all threads, wools, silks, everything. The colours and texture pull me in. I like to use what inspires me. I love nature, and my inspiration comes from walking my dogs and watching the world. I love history. I offer workshops focusing on traditional textiles, Iron Age spinning, weaving, and dyes, Embroidery, and felt making.

This workshop is being hosted by the Severn Gorge Countryside Trust, a local charity.
The Trust’s aim is to promote, protect and conserve the living landscape of the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site, which has a diverse range of habitats, including wildflower meadows, woodlands and heathlands. But that’s not all! We maintain over 20 kilometres of footpaths, conserve and protect 60 historic structures, run exciting Outdoor Learning and Volunteering Programmes to encourage local people and visitors to engage with the natural environment in a variety of ways.
All proceeds from this workshop will support the work of the Severn Gorge Countryside Trust.
