What
Save Our Shropshire (SOS) CIO recognises there is a Climate Emergency.
In Shropshire, there are many Small to Medium size businesses, who will be subject to requirements to come up with a “Zero-Carbon” strategy in their relationships with bigger customers. The government is also encouraging SMEs to commit to carbon reduction. Thus they said in May 2021 “We’re asking you to take the first step on your journey, by committing to cutting those carbon emissions in half by 2030 and to reach ‘net zero’ by 2050.
We have therefore partnered with Lorent Training, which provides courses based on the Carbon Literacy project materials and will give you plenty of ideas on how to become net-zero. Lorent training provides training through public sessions or tailored in-house courses. Successful delegates will get certification by the Carbon Literacy Project.
Courses are approved by the Carbon Literacy Project and provide a certification of carbon literacy. More importantly it gives you the knowledge and understanding to help make a difference.
If you feel that you need to do something to get you started on your journey to combat climate change and are working for or with an SME, then through this course you will get the knowledge and tools to set you off on the right path. No previous environmental knowledge is needed.
Courses are available for Shropshire householders, Parish and Town Councillors and for businesses. Click here for further information on the range of courses available.
SOS are also looking to train more trainers to deliver the courses. If you are interested in spreading the word and becoming a trainer, please get in touch via their website.
