What
Save Our Shropshire (SOS) CIO recognises there is a Climate Emergency.
Based on the Carbon Literacy Project’s toolkit we have developed a course aimed to help Town and Parish councils understand why there is an emergency, the financial and non-financial benefits of taking action, and best practices elsewhere. Parish councils will then be able to provide the leadership for householders to change.
Courses are approved by the Carbon Literacy Project and provide a certification of carbon literacy. More importantly it gives you the knowledge and understanding to help make a difference.
This practical workshop is for Parish or Town Councilors who want to understand more about the Climate Emergency, what action to take, and in particular how their Parish or Town Council can take a lead in the fight against the effects of Climate Change. People will need to change their behaviour substantially to stop floods, extreme weather, loss of animals and insects in Shropshire. Parish Councils are the focus where people can be engaged to make a difference to the way we live and interact with each other.
Courses are available for Shropshire householders, Parish and Town Councilors and for businesses. Click here for further information on the range of courses available.
SOS are also looking to train more trainers to deliver the courses. If you are interested in spreading the word and becoming a trainer, please get in touch via their website.
