Crowdfunder FAQs

How will this hub be different than a green directory or blog site?

Green directories are UK wide sites where you can find the location of something if you know what you are looking for, many smaller businesses are missed from these maps. In addition there are hundreds of green blog sites out there – some which are UK based, others that are not, all providing generic green hints and tips aimed at a wide audience.

Combining our local directories with relevant blogs, our hubs will pick the best of the information out there and provide a place to explore everything that is local and relevant to you without having to trawl the internet for hours on end. It is surprising what green initiatives are probably already going on around the corner that just don’t have a strong online voice!

What will the funds be spent on?

Funds raised will be used to create a custom built website, cover hosting fees, enlist data experts to create a custom built data management system, purchase necessary basic IT equipment, and design and print marketing materials as part of a UK wide marketing plan.

Will the hubs be free to access?

Yes! We want to provide useful practical green living information for as many people as possible, there will be no fee or membership needed for access.

Will the hubs be free for businesses to list on?

The platform will provide directory listing for all relevant businesses FREE of charge. There will also be opportunities to list events, activities, volunteering and much more! Additional premium advertising and promotional opportunities will be available for those who want them, these will help cover ongoing running costs.

Will the hubs have UK wide information on too?

All the data from our local hubs will also be pulled together onto a central UK site, so if you want to look wider, you can! Just browse the topics for articles, advice or products, or click on the map to explore whats available in different areas of the Country.

How will you keep the hubs up to date?

A UK wide network of experts, and some very clever background data management will ensure relevant local content is kept up to date. We are committed to continually updating the site and adding local businesses that may not have an online presence elsewhere.

Can I get involved?

If you would like to help us Crowdfund, volunteer to help provide information for your local hub, write guest blogs, provide web support, graphic design or any other relevant expertise we would love to hear from you.
