Liquid beauty products take up more packaging and more space during transport than solid versions. Using more fuel and emissions as well as having to be stored in plastic bottles.

A simple switch you can make is to swap to a solid shampoo bar instead of liquid shampoo.

Shampoo bars can be packaged in recyclable cardboard box or paper wrapper, and use less water and energy to be produced.

They are often kinder to your hair as there are less chemicals and stripping ingredients in them. Once your hair and scalp are used to the change, many people find their hair feels fresher for longer.

Shampoo bars also last a lot longer than a standard bottle of shampoo too.

We made the switch here at Mossy HQ over a year ago and wouldn’t look back. Look for one suitable to your hair type and give it a try. There are even local Shropshire companies that produce handmade soaps and shampoo bars here in the County!

Organik Orangutan – Newport

The Blue Lemon – Shrewsbury

The Ironbridge Soap Kitchen – Ironbridge

The Green Woman – Ludlow
