Printer ink cartridges are one item in many households and offices that we can’t do without. Yes we can reduce our printing to the bare minimum, saving energy, ink and paper, but there are still some things that we need physical copies for.
Ink cartridges are almost entirely made from plastic and are non-recyclable through local recycling schemes. So if you can, get them refilled and use them again and again before they end up in landfill.

You can either refill them yourself by bulk buying the appropriate inks to match your printer, or you can send them to a company who refills them and sells them on ready to use. Choices available are completely dependant on your printer make and model, so do a little bit of research to find out what is best for you.
It may be one small item in the grand scheme of things, but reducing any it of waste we can (not to mention the energy and emissions during the process of new cartridges), really does add up and make a difference.
